The technical details of the Hyundai's hybrid still remain unknown. However some rumors and speculations point to Sonata’s high-line 2.0 liter turbocharged?unit that will share the under hood area with a six-speed automatic gearbox and a 30 kw electric motor. InsideLine reports that the interested buyers will get to choose from three powertrain options.

A teaser image of Hyundai’s first U.S. market hybrid model, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata sedan has been released by the Korean automaker. Debuting at the New York Auto Show next week, the 2011 Sonata Hybrid will stand out from the regular Sonata lineup with its different styling features.
The environment friendly Sonata Hybrid will make its worldwide debut on March 31 and will go on sale here later this year.
