Jaguar Box Confirms XKR Goodwood Special to Enter Production

“This is definitely not a level of performance anyone would have associated with the XKR before now,¡± he said.

In a small interview with the PistonHeads, Jaguar boss Mike O’Driscoll revealed that the production version of the upcoming extra-hot XKR lapped the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes 58 seconds.

According to the new reports on the web, the Jaguar?XKR Goodwood concept has been shown a green flag for production. The concept was first introduced at the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

O’Driscoll refused to speak anything more about the car so there are grim details about the new XKR. However he confirmed that the car will have a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h), which according to him is important to customers in the German market.

As seen in the? conceptmodel, the ?Jaguar?XKR Goodwood is expected to be powered by a forced-induction 5.0 liter V8 unit that uses supercharging to deliver 530 hp and a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft of torque (700 Nm), an increase of 13 hp (10 kW / 13 PS) and 55 lb-ft (74 Nm) over the?standard XKR. The one-off car will also carry lowered suspension, 21 inch alloy wheels, and a tweaked exhaust system for greater sound.?A revised front splitter and a larger rear spoiler are amongst the other changes that are most likely to be a part of the new XKR.
