The Peugeot SR1 Concept will not be alone at the Geneva Motor Show next month as a stunning, yet quite strangely named?concept car, the “5 by Peugeot ”, will join the stage presenting the production-ready version of Peugeot's 508 sedan.

Described as “another indication of the changing face of Peugeot” and as “providing an insight into the marque’s future ambitions in the large luxury vehicle segment”, the 508 concept car?will replace the 407 and 607 beginning 2011.
The 5 by Peugeot expresses the French automaker's vision and experience in the large touring car market and ships with the company's new HYbrid4 technology due for launch in 2011 in the Peugeot 3008. ?The 200 bhp all-wheel drive luxury sedan features a 2.0 liter Hdi diesel engine with 163 bhp (122 kW/165 PS) coupled to an electric motor on the rear axle that delivers an additional 37 bhp (28 kW/38 PS) .?The combination provides low fuel consumption and emissions of 3.8 l/100km (74.3 mpg UK or 61.9 mpg US) and 99 g/km of CO2 or zero in electric mode. This sleek and sexy car flaunts Peugeot's latest design language?with a unique front grille design, a long aluminum bonnet , 19 inch rims and ?new front lamp units with LED technology. While we do not have any details for the interiors, looking at the outer body we keep our hopes positive. Lets wait until next month to hear more from the Geneva Show.
