Official details of Cadillac's ?third addition to the CTS-V range, ?the CTS-V Sport Wagon,?have finally been released. Combining ?the performance and luxury of the landmark CTS-V Sport Sedan with the dramatic design of the CTS Sport Wagon, the wagon according to the automaker is a natural extension of both the?V-Series and the CTS lineup.
The news comes just two days before the New York Auto Show where the car will make its worldwide debut, with production set to begin at the end of the year. The CTS-V Sport Wagon is powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 engine that delivers 564 horsepower (415kW) at 6100rpm. It is mated to either a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual with a dual-disc clutch or a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted shift controls.
Sport Wagon incorporates a unique grille that doubles front-end airflow, an aggressive front fascia and a raised center section of the aluminum hood. The rear also houses a pair of three-inch chrome exhaust outlets. The car rides on 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin's performance tires. The other exterior features include Brembo brakes, large vertical tail-lamps with light-pipe technology, power-opening liftgate, anoramic UltraView sunroof and Cargo Management System with adjustable in-floor containment.
Inside, the CTS-V Sport Wagon gets midnight Sapele wood trim and black leather-trimmed Recaro seats. Also included are the ?hand-stitched instrument panel, door trim and center console. Standard features list as an advanced navigation system with a deployable screen, Bose 5.1 digital surround audio, factory-installed Bluetooth phone integration and a 40-gigabyte hard drive.
The CTS-V Sport Wagon will go into production in late 2010, with initial sales in North America, followed by export markets including Europe and the Middle East in 2011.
